Section 309.18. Communications.

(1) Each ambulance shall have a permanently mounted radio to contact the hospital emergency department of the hospital it serves. There shall be a microphone and speaker permanently mounted in the patient compartment. The radio shall comply with ch. DHS 110 .

(2) Each ambulance service provider operating ambulances staffed either wholly or partially with EMTs practicing advance skills shall have remote 2-way communications for personnel when they are away from the ambulance.
