Section 366.0604. Stairway width.

This is a department rule in addition to the requirements in IEBC section 604: Where installing an inclined platform lift or stairway chairlift, the clear-passage width shall be provided with the lift in the unfolded, usable position — except where an existing, previously approved lift is being replaced, the clear-passage width may remain as it was with the original lift in place, but it may not be reduced by the replacement.
