  • This is a department definition in addition to the definitions in IBC section 1802.1: NEUTRAL PLANE. A deep foundation's neutral plane is the level at which drag load, accumulated from the top down, added to the long-term static service load, equals the upward acting shaft resistance accumulated from the bottom up, added to the deep foundation's toe resistance.
