Section 362.1018. Corridor continuity.

  • This is a department exception to the requirements in IBC section 1018.6: Other spaces or rooms constructed as required for corridors, and that are adjacent to a fire-resistance-rated corridor, shall not be construed as intervening rooms; and may be open to the corridor when all of the following are satisfied:
    (1)  The spaces are not occupied for hazardous uses.
    (2)  The spaces are not occupied for the incidental uses listed in IBC Table 508.2.
    (3)  The spaces are arranged so as to not obstruct access to the required exits.
