Section 111.05. Ringside physicians.

- The department shall assign the ringside physician for a professional boxing event. The assigned ringside physician represents the department for the purpose of protecting the health and welfare of boxers participating in boxing events. The ringside physician shall do all of the following:(1) Examine each boxer and certify that a boxer is physically able to compete in a boxing contest.(2) Maintain continuous attendance at ringside to observe the physical condition of boxers during bouts and be prepared to administer emergent medical procedures to boxers who receive injuries during bouts.(3) Attend injured boxers between bouts.(4) Consult with the referee to determine whether a bout should be interrupted or stopped to prevent a weakened or outclassed boxer from receiving excessive punishment, pursuant to s. 444.12 , Stats.(5) Complete department records and reports.
