The purpose of this chapter is to provide a streamlined process for the management of accumulated sediment removed from storm water management structures in a manner that protects public health, safety and the environment and reduces the need to dispose of accumulated sediment in landfills. This chapter is adopted under authority of s. 227.11 , Stats., and ch. 289 , Stats.
