Section 297.07. Applicability; description of the steam wood preserving subcategory.

  • This subchapter applies to the discharge of pollutants to waters of the state and the introduction of pollutants into POTWs from 4 types of operations:
    (1)  Wood preserving processes which use direct steam impingment on wood as the predominant conditioning method;
    (2)  Wood preserving processes which use the vapor drying process as the predominant conditioning method;
    (3)  Direct steam conditioning processes which use the same retort to treat with both salt and oil type preservatives; and
    (4)  Steam conditioning processes which apply both salt type and oil type preservatives to the same stock.
