Section 143.05. Requirements for participating clinical audiologists.

  • (1)
    (a) Shall complete graduate studies in audiology leading to a master's and/or higher graduate degree.
    (b) Shall submit evidence of having completed 300 hours of supervised clinical experience and 60 hours of course work in audiology and related areas.
    (c) Shall complete an additional year of full-time supervised clinical internship in audiology or be in the process of completing this requirement.
    (d) Shall pass the National Examination in Audiology administered by the educational testing service, Princeton, New Jersey, or who have received a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology.
    (2)  Persons wishing to be included on the state agencies' list of participating clinical audiologists must submit evidence that the above requirements have been met. Those clinical audiologists who are in the process of meeting the certification standards outlined above will be reviewed individually for participation in this program. Any other person not meeting these requirements may present his/her qualifications to the CSHCN program audiologists for review and consideration.
    (3)  Membership in any professional association is not required.
    (4)  All information pertaining to the above requirements shall be submitted in writing to CSHCN program clinical audiologists.
