proposed
rule

The Podiatry Affiliated Credentialing Board will
1) revise
ch.

to reflect the provisions
of
2013 Wisconsin Act 114
and

) conduct a comprehensive review of

to ensure the rules are consistent with current professional, academic, and licensing practices and applicable Wisconsin statutes.

Pursuant to the enactment of
2013 Wisconsin Act 114
, the Department of Safety and Professional Services and its attached boards may no longer require any person
to complete any
postsecondary education
before the person is eligible
to take an examination for a credential. In accordance
with this legislation, t
he Podiatry Affiliated Credentialing Board
must revise the administrative rules to allow applicants seeking licensure as a podiatrist to take their credentialing exam before completing any postsecondary education
.

currently contains all of the rules of the Podiatry Affiliated Credentialing Board relating to licensure requirements. The Board has identified the need for a comprehensive evaluation and update of these rules to ensure they are consistent with current professional, academic, and licensing practices and applicable Wisconsin statutes. The alternatives of either partially updating or not updating these rules would be less beneficial to affected entities.
