A description of the objective of the proposed rule.
The Department proposes to make revisions to PI 8 to address new and innovative instructional delivery models.

Over time, school districts have developed new and innovative instructional delivery models. The proposed rule would update PI 8 to address these practices.

the state superintendent shall promulgate rules to implement and administer school district standards, including rules defining “regular instruction.”

The amount of time needed for rule development by department staff and the amount of other resources necessary are minimal.

No entities should be affected by this rule change since the change will only be done to align the PI rule chapters with the statutes.
